Dutch singer Andre Hazes has canceled his scheduled performance at the Genk On Stage music festival in Genk, Belgium, due to illness.

The cancellation was announced on Sunday evening, June 28, 2026.

The festival organizers confirmed the news shortly after 3 p. m.

that afternoon, stating that Hazes was unable to perform.

According to reports from Shownieuws and Showbizzsite, the event organizers acted quickly to secure a replacement act for the free festival held in the center of Genk.

Organizers Find Replacement

"Andre is lying sick in bed. We wish him a speedy recovery," the festival organization said regarding the singer's sudden condition.

The festival management expressed gratitude for being able to find an alternative performer for the final day of the event.

"We are proud to report that Tourist LeMC had a gap in the schedule and will fill the vacant spot," the festival organizers told ANP.

The organization reiterated their appreciation in a separate statement following the swift schedule adjustment.

Prior to his illness, Hazes attended his father-in-law Denny Braaf's wedding to Germaine Smolders on Saturday alongside his girlfriend Noa Braaf.

Braaf noted that Hazes delivered a deeply moving speech at the wedding.
