The world number 29 is on a five-match losing streak and has not won since April 26.
A rib injury forced him to retire at Roland Garros, disrupting his preparation and preventing him from practicing ahead of Wimbledon.
Zheng, meanwhile, has climbed from 499th in the world rankings last year to his current position at 143.

The former Columbia University student maintained a perfect qualification record across all Grand Slam events this season to earn his first Wimbledon main draw appearance.
Although Zheng has won eight of his 12 career grass-court matches in qualifiers and Challenger events, he has yet to play a main-draw ATP match on the surface.
