The match highlights a 15-year age gap between the 19-year-old Russian and the 34-year-old Polish veteran.

Andreeva has risen to world No. 5 after her Grand Slam victory at Roland Garros. Linette enters the tournament ranked No. 58 globally.
Andreeva holds a 3-1 advantage in their head-to-head matchups, including a straight-sets win earlier in 2026.
Three of her victories came on hard courts, while Linette won their only clay meeting at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Monday's contest will be their first on grass.
Andreeva reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2025.

Linette has been eliminated in the opening round in consecutive years and never advanced beyond the third round in 12 career appearances at the All England Club.

Linette recently showed grass-court form by reaching the semifinals at the Libéma Open. She also posted a 2-2 record against top-10 opponents over the past year.
A victory for Andreeva could set up a second-round encounter with defending champion Barbora Krejcikova. Potential third-round opponents include Katerina Siniakova or Qinwen Zheng.
