Reigning French Open champion Mirra Andreeva will play Poland's Magda Linette in the first round of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships on Monday, June 29.

Andreeva has risen to world No. 5 after her Grand Slam victory at Roland Garros. Linette enters the tournament ranked No. 58 globally.

Andreeva holds a 3-1 advantage in their head-to-head matchups, including a straight-sets win earlier in 2026.

Three of her victories came on hard courts, while Linette won their only clay meeting at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Monday's contest will be their first on grass.

Andreeva reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2025.

Linette has been eliminated in the opening round in consecutive years and never advanced beyond the third round in 12 career appearances at the All England Club.

Statistically, Andreeva has won over 44 percent of her return games and 75.5 percent of her service games in 2026.

Linette has won 69 percent of her service games.

Linette recently showed grass-court form by reaching the semifinals at the Libéma Open. She also posted a 2-2 record against top-10 opponents over the past year.

A victory for Andreeva could set up a second-round encounter with defending champion Barbora Krejcikova. Potential third-round opponents include Katerina Siniakova or Qinwen Zheng.
