An Alabama investigation revealed that a Georgia man died from a sudden heart attack while attempting to conceal the body of his girlfriend after fatally strangling her, as reported by The Guardian.
Chambers County sheriff deputies discovered the bodies of Daniel Robbins, 44, and Jessica Folds, 47, next to each other on the morning of June 10, 2026, in a wooded area near an abandoned vehicle in the town of Lanett.

The Chambers Sheriff's Office sent both individuals to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsies to determine the official cause of death, establishing that the couple had been in a relationship prior to the incident.
Prosecutor Confirms Cause of Death
Local District Attorney Mike Segrest confirmed the medical findings regarding the suspect's cause of death during the disposal of the victim.
"He died of a heart attack while doing it," said Segrest.
The prosecutor noted the physical proximity of the deceased individuals at the crime scene when emergency responders first arrived.
"Their bodies were right there together," said Segrest.
Law enforcement officials used the combined physical evidence and forensic results to reconstruct the sequence of events in the remote location.

Segrest stated that Folds "was strangled" and "it appears [Robbins] was attempting to dispose of [her] body in a remote location."
Investigators noted key details about the state of the vehicle used by the suspect, which pointed toward a rapid timeline.
Segrest said the vehicle "was still running and the driver's side door was open when deputies arrived to find them."
Physical markings on the ground indicated that the suspect had moved the body from the vehicle into the surrounding foliage.
"There were drag marks in the dirt into the woods where the couple were found," Segrest told AL.
