Seiya Suzuki hit a game-ending, two-out single off Mason Miller in the ninth inning on Monday night to lift the Chicago Cubs to a 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field.

The winning hit reached the left-field wall, extending Suzuki's hitting streak to four games and sealing Chicago's major league-leading 10th walk-off win of the season.

Dansby Swanson and Pete Crow-Armstrong initiated the decisive ninth-inning rally with consecutive singles off Jason Adam, who dropped to a 2-2 record.

Alex Bregman followed with a single to center field off Miller to load the bases.

Michael Busch then hit a flyball to left field, where Jase Bowen caught the ball and threw out Swanson at home plate as he attempted to score.

Suzuki followed by driving a pitch to the left-field wall, which Bowen narrowly missed catching during a leaping attempt.

Trent Thornton earned the victory to move to 3-2 after pitching the ninth inning for Chicago.

San Diego threat Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a one-out single in the frame but was thrown out by catcher Miguel Amaya trying to steal second base.

San Diego originally established a 2-0 advantage in the fourth inning when Miguel Andújar, who finished the game with three hits, scored on a double by Xander Bogaerts.

Chicago responded in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single from Michael Conforto.

Suzuki initially tied the game at 2-2 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.
