Leicester Tigers' England prop Joe Heyes and Harrogate Town midfielder George Thomson have secured their club futures by signing new contract extensions.

Heyes committed to a four-year contract with the Premiership club, while Thomson signed a one-year extension keeping him at Harrogate Town until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The 27-year-old Leicester prop has made over 180 senior appearances since emerging from the academy in 2018 and helped the team secure the 2022 Premiership title.

Heyes has earned 22 international caps and is currently included in the England squad for the upcoming Nations Championship competition against South Africa.

"It's a place that I have grown to love since arriving as a 16-year-old," said Heyes, expressing his appreciation for the environment and support system at Welford Road.

"Over the years, I've experienced and felt the passion for this club through the players, coaches, backroom staff and, of course, our incredible fans," he added.

Leicester Tigers head coach Geoff Parling praised the commitment, noting that Heyes was named the England men's player of the season this year.

"Having Joe commit his long-term future here is a great statement on how much the club means to him," said Parling, adding that there is still huge growth in his game.

Meanwhile, Harrogate Town retained 34-year-old Thomson for his tenth season after he previously achieved promotions to the National League and Football League in 2018 and 2020.

Thomson has made 335 appearances and scored over 50 goals for Harrogate since joining in 2017, despite being limited to 15 appearances last season due to injury.
