Alex de Minaur powered into the third round of Wimbledon with a commanding straight-sets victory over French veteran Adrian Mannarino on Thursday.

The Australian top seed won 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 on Court 3, wrapping up the match in one hour and 49 minutes.

De Minaur broke Mannarino's serve twice in the first set and three times in the second, claiming both sets in 38 minutes each despite facing breaks on his own service games.

The third set proved more competitive, with De Minaur overcoming a lengthy service game at 2-2 that included five deuces before breaking Mannarino to love to seal the win.

Australian fans in the arena provided strong support throughout the match.

De Minaur said his performance was an improvement from his opening-round match against Roman Andres Burruchaga.

"I definitely think I started better, I had more intent, more conviction in what I needed to do," said De Minaur.

The Australian expressed his fondness for the grass-court tournament and the playing conditions.

"I just love it here and I'm hoping I can stay here for a long time," he added.

De Minaur will face either Poland's Kamil Majchrzak or American Zach Svajda in the third round.
