Path to the Third Round

Sinner defeated Miomir Kecmanovic in a five-set opening match and followed with a straight-sets victory over Nuno Borges in the second round.

The Italian has now recorded 95 career main-draw Grand Slam wins.

Brooksby, ranked 81st, advanced by beating Aleksandar Vukic and Ignacio Buse in straight sets. The 25-year-old California native entered Wimbledon with a 6-15 singles record this year.

Players' Perspectives

Sinner acknowledged a lack of match practice on grass after skipping warm-up tournaments. "Especially in the first round, I felt the lack of matches," he said.

"Also [in Round 2] there were a couple of moments. I need to get back to this rhythm."

Brooksby, who lost his only previous meeting with Sinner in straight sets in 2021, expressed confidence. "It will be one of the biggest challenges in tennis right now.

I love these kinds of challenges. I never doubt my ability to beat any player," he said.
