Multiple municipalities surrounding Elmhurst, Illinois, have scheduled parades and fireworks displays from July 3 to July 5, 2026, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The local events are part of a nationwide initiative organized by America 250, a congressionally chartered nonprofit.

Friday, July 3 Events

Lemont will host a celebration at Centennial Park starting at 4 p. m.

, with fireworks at 9:30 p. m.

Lockport will hold a fireworks show at dusk in Dellwood Park.

Romeoville plans to launch fireworks at 9:30 p. m.

, viewable from locations including the Village Hall parking lot.

Saturday, July 4 Events

The Darien Lions 55th Annual 4th Of July Parade will begin at 9:30 a. m.

at the Jewel Parking Lot.

Hinsdale will hold a downtown parade and "4th for All" Celebration at 10 a. m.

Bensenville will host LibertyFest from 6 p. m.

to 10 p. m.

at the Redmond Recreational Complex.

Bolingbrook will open gates at 3 p. m.

ahead of a fireworks display at dusk.

These local festivities are part of broader national events including America's Block Party, the "Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show" with ball drops across time zones, a time capsule burial in Philadelphia, the Great American State Fair on the National Mall from June 25 to July 10, and the "Sail 4th 250" tall ships flotilla in New York Harbor.
