NBA superstar LeBron James adopted an open approach to his 2026 free agency on July 2, welcoming pitches from across the league after ruling out only the Los Angeles Lakers, according to cbssports.

Unlike his historical free agencies in 2010, 2014, and 2018, where James strictly limited his meetings, the veteran forward has signaled a wider openness.

The analysis ranked potential pitches from all 29 remaining teams based on championship competitiveness, market desirability, and roster synergy.

Lowest-Ranked Pitches

For the lowest-ranked teams, the pitches remain highly unrealistic due to previous comments or poor fits.

CBS Sports evaluated a hypothetical pitch for the Memphis Grizzlies: "You started your career by playing with Carlos Boozer for a year.

Finish your career by playing with Cameron Boozer for a year. Plus, there will probably be an opportunity for a pretty lucrative Hyatt sponsorship here."

However, James previously expressed strong aversion to playing in Memphis, noting he might have chosen a different path to avoid them.

The Milwaukee Bucks faced a similarly low probability of success. "Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't think an MVP could win a championship with this team.

Prove him wrong!" said the analyst.

New Orleans also ranked low due to market demographics, as the city generally attracts younger players rather than veterans in their 40s.
