Maricopa County health records show 16 confirmed heat deaths so far in 2026, with 192 more under investigation.

This marks an increase compared to the same period last year.

The extreme heat warning for the Phoenix area spans Tuesday through Thursday, with projected highs peaking at 116 degrees.
