Indian top-order batter Pratika Rawal has been ruled out of the upcoming one-off Test match against England at Lord's due to a knee injury.

The Board has named uncapped Test batter Priya Punia as her immediate replacement.

The historic Test match is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Rawal sustained the injury during a domestic tour match in Taunton last week while fielding in the second one-day match against England A.

She did not bat during India A's run chase of 300 runs.

Injury Details and Replacement

India head coach Amol Muzumdar confirmed the squad adjustment and detailed the injury. He stated that Rawal suffered a cut on her knee which required stitches.

Punia enters the senior squad after showing strong form in the A series against England, where she scored two half-centuries in three matches.

She will compete with Harleen Deol and Yastika Bhatia for the vacant No. 3 batting position, which Rawal previously held during India's Test match against Australia in March.

This injury is another setback for Rawal, who previously missed the semi-final and final of India's victorious World Cup campaign last November due to an ankle injury.

She also missed the subsequent Women's Premier League season with the UP Warriorz.

The Indian national team completed a five-day preparation camp in Wormsley ahead of the fixture.
