According to Algemeen Dagblad, guests labeled the expensive gathering a deception and a scam after the Silk Sonic duo performed only five songs.

The backlash erupted online as attendees expressed anger over spending hundreds of euros for a minimal number of tracks in a packed venue.

Venue Owner Responds to Criticism

Club owner Jesse Jansman responded to the criticism by suggesting that attendees arrived with incorrect expectations.

He clarified that the event was a party rather than a full concert.

Jansman noted that the audience skewed older than the venue's typical demographic.

He also explained the physical limitations of the venue and the artists, stating that the establishment lacks a traditional stage area.

"I suspect they thought it would be a show similar to the night concerts Prince used to give after his concerts," Jansman said.

The event occurred during the pop star's concert series at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
