After opting to bat first, India posted 211 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Abhishek Sharma smashed 61 runs off just 27 balls, including seven sixes, dominating the powerplay.

Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51, anchoring the innings as India plundered 69 runs in the final four overs, with Shivam Dube providing support.

Pakistan's Arafat Minhas was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 for 25.

Pakistan's Chase Falls Short Despite Nawaz Blitz

Pakistan's reply stumbled early, slipping to 39 for 3.

Hasan Nawaz then launched a counterattack, scoring a blistering 96 off 51 balls.

He shared an 87-run fourth-wicket partnership with Saim Ayub, giving Pakistan hope.

However, India's spinners, led by Axar Patel and Washington Sundar who took two wickets each, applied the brakes.

Pakistan eventually finished on 192 for 6, falling 19 runs short of the target.

The win ensures India retains the gold medal they won in the previous edition.
