Rob Reiner, the late actor and filmmaker, has received a posthumous Emmy Award nomination for his guest role in the fourth season of the FX comedy series The Bear.
The nomination was announced on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, according to the L. A.

Times. It is Reiner's first acting-related Emmy nod since his 1978 win for All in the Family.
Reiner portrayed pragmatic restaurant consultant Albert Schnurr in a three-episode arc, mentoring line cook Ebra. His performance was widely praised.
The series finale of The Bear paid tribute to Reiner in late June with a line of dialogue referencing his 1987 classic film The Princess Bride.
Co-star Edwin Lee Gibson recalled their time filming together. "All those days that Rob and I spent together were a lot of fun," Gibson said.
"I’m really happy that it looks like, ‘Oh, they must have spent so much time,’ when in actuality we just had such a great chemistry immediately."
Gibson expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform alongside Reiner in what would become the veteran entertainer's final narrative television scenes.

"I got to be his last scene partner, unfortunately ...
but it was just really, really great moments with someone that you grew up watching in front of the camera, then behind the camera," he said.
Reiner's final onscreen appearance aired July 3 in Larry David's HBO sketch comedy series Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, where he played George Washington.
Beyond acting, Reiner was celebrated for directing Hollywood staples such as Stand by Me and When Harry Met Sally...
Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14.
Their son, Nick Reiner, pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in February.
