Multiple chefs across Oklahoma are preparing for two separate culinary competitions scheduled for late July 2026, offering local diners an opportunity to sample diverse dishes in single locations.

405 vs. 918 Culinary Battle

The Jones Assembly will host the second annual 405 vs. 918 culinary battle on Monday, July 20, at 6:30 p.

Four-chef teams representing Oklahoma City and Tulsa will compete in a four-course showdown.

The Oklahoma City lineup features Pascal Buthion, Bryant Gallegos, Garrett Hare, and Kathryn Mathis.

The Tulsa team includes Roque Heidler, Marco Herrera, Gabe Lazarde, and Caleb Mohr.

Organizer chef Eric Smith, The Jones Assembly, and EatingOKC. com structured the event to benefit local nonprofits.

Proceeds will go to the OKC Metro Alliance, Inc. First Step program, Pivot, and Youth Services of Tulsa.

Chef v. Chef Sandwich Showdown

Separately, 39 Restaurant at the First Americans Museum will host the Chef v. Chef Sandwich Showdown at 11 a.

m. on July 25.

The event follows a challenge issued by chef Ben Hutton.

Competitors include Jessie Gomez, Eric Smith, Isabel Granata, Kurt Fleischfresser, Guadalupe de Jesus Aguirre, Garrett Hare, and Zach Hutton.

They will compete for a $1,000 cash prize and a championship belt.
