Former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro were involved in a verbal and physical altercation on Friday at an NBA Summer League practice facility in Las Vegas, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.
Adebayo struck Herro at least once during the encounter, the source told the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because details have not been publicly revealed.

Herro was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks earlier this month in a deal that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat.
Antetokounmpo will now play alongside Adebayo, who serves as the Heat's team captain.
The Heat acknowledged the incident but declined further comment.
Herro attended a summer game between the Bucks and Heat, but Adebayo was not present.

After the game, Herro told the Miami Herald and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: "My only comment is no comment."
ESPN first reported details of the altercation.
One factor was that Herro had made critical comments about Adebayo and his three-year, $166 million extension signed in 2024.

Herro reportedly made those comments in direct messages on social media, and screenshots later became public.
