A heavily re-engineered classic Land Rover Defender from Heldeburg, called Lange, is now on sale for $348,720.
That's more than twice the price of a brand-new Defender OCTA, which starts at $158,800 in the US.

The vehicle was originally commissioned by a Texas rancher to cover his land.
After a couple of years, he upgraded to a larger Defender 130 from Heldeburg, putting this example up for grabs.
Engine and Performance Upgrades
Unlike many restomods that swap in a modern V8, Heldeburg kept the original 300Tdi turbo-diesel.
The company reworked it to produce 42 percent more power, preserving the mechanical character of the old Defender.

Beyond the engine, the restomod features a new performance brake system, modern power-assisted steering, and a locking 4x4 differential.
The suspension has been upgraded with new shocks, sway bars, and stabilizers to improve highway stability while retaining off-road capability.
Exterior changes include a finish in Oak Green Metallic, a full matte-black roll cage that mounts to the frame for safety, a strong steel bumper with red tow hooks, new headlights, and a black grille.
Inside, the cabin is transformed with a modern infotainment system, a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, and black and brown quilted leather.
