US President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina at the New Jersey New York Stadium in East Rutherford, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Thursday.
Leavitt said the president looks forward to the match on Sunday, calling it a fitting conclusion to a tournament that showcased America's ability to host the world.

Trump to Present Trophy
FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that Trump is expected to participate in the post-match ceremony and present the trophy alongside him.
Infantino noted that this follows tradition, as seen in previous World Cups where the host country's leader joined him for the trophy presentation.

Trump previously presented a trophy at the same venue during the Club World Cup final last summer and has maintained a close relationship with Infantino throughout the tournament.
Leavitt did not specify which team Trump would support, but said he would have a fun answer for reporters.

The White House also confirmed that Trump is scheduled to attend a FIFA reception at Trump Tower in New York City on Friday.
