New York Mets interim manager Andy Green defended the team's operational integrity ahead of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies, stating the organization remains fully compliant with Major League Baseball guidelines regarding in-game technology.
The statement follows a report from The Guardian regarding allegations that the franchise utilized artificial intelligence software to formulate in-game strategic decisions.

"Whatever the rules are, we remain fully compliant and Major League Baseball makes those determinations," said Green.
Green addressed the situation directly when questioned about public claims made by a former player regarding the team's internal technology investments.
"I don’t think it does us any good to talk about what everybody says publicly.
From my perspective, what I just said remains true: We remain compliant with everything MLB’s asked us to do.
And we’ll continue to do that," said Green.

Former Mets relief pitcher Adam Ottavino previously detailed the alleged software usage during a broadcast on his YouTube livestream, "Baseball + Coffee."
Ottavino, who played for the franchise from 2022 to 2024 and currently broadcasts for the New York Yankees' Yes Network, cited significant financial investments by team owner Steve Cohen into the program.
"The Mets were actually the team, the main team, that got cracked down on," said Ottavino.

Some of the coaches that I know were talking about it from around the league and they had basically an AI program helping them pick pitches and I think some other stuff."
