Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, also rejected the statements. He accused Mamdani of failing to confront rising local antisemitism.
"Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will come to New York, address the United Nations General Assembly with pride, and stand before the world to state Israel's truth," Danon said.
US political figures aligned with Donald Trump dismissed the legal threats, highlighting that the US is not a member of the ICC.
Mike Waltz, Trump's Ambassador to the UN, called the move "pure political theater."
