A man and a woman have died after being recovered from the water at Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were alerted around 9:45 p. m.

and dispatched multiple rescue teams to the scene.
HM Coastguard deployed search and rescue crews from Padstow, St Agnes, and Newquay shortly before emergency calls were logged.
Despite immediate response efforts, medical personnel could not revive the victims.
Police Confirm Fatalities
Local authorities subsequently confirmed the fatalities and initiated standard protocol for sudden deaths in the area.

"Sadly, a man and a woman were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Their families have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time," said a spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that formal documentation is currently being compiled for the local coroner's office.

"A file will be prepared for HM Coroner," added the spokesman.
