The Denver Nuggets have agreed to hire former NBA head coach Dave Joerger as their lead assistant coach, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Joerger will join head coach David Adelman's staff, bringing extensive head coaching experience to the Nuggets' bench.

Coaching Background
Joerger spent six seasons as an NBA head coach with the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings.
From 2013 to 2016, he led Memphis to a 147-99 record, including a 55-win season in 2014-15.
After his dismissal in May 2016, he coached the Kings to a 98-148 mark through April 2019.

He later served as an assistant and consultant with the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Nuggets' Offseason Move
The hiring comes after Adelman's first full season as head coach, where Denver posted a 54-win regular season and secured the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
Despite owner Josh Kroenke's endorsement, the Nuggets were eliminated in six games in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The front office decided to add Joerger's veteran experience to bolster the coaching staff.
