Phil Mickelson will not participate in the 2026 Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club, according to the tournament field released July 24 by the PGA Tour.
The event, scheduled for July 30 to August 2, marks the final edition under Rocket Mortgage sponsorship after the sponsor declined its option for 2027, as reported by Sports Business Journal.

The 145-player field includes ten major champions, such as Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Wyndham Clark, and Brooks Koepka, along with defending champion Aldrich Potgieter.
Mickelson's Absence Continues
Mickelson has not competed in the tournament since his sole appearance in 2021.
That appearance was overshadowed by a local media report detailing transcripts from a 2007 federal trial regarding a gambling dispute.
“It was so much effort for me to be here.
To have that type of unnecessary attack, it's not like I care, I mean it happened 20-something years ago.
Yeah, I don't see me coming back,” Mickelson said at the time, as quoted by CBS Sports.

Although Mickelson later suggested he might return if a fan petition for good deeds reached 50,000 signatures, the campaign fell short.
His standing with the PGA Tour ended when he joined LIV Golf in 2022, requiring a sponsor exemption to play, which was not granted.
Mickelson's competitive record in 2026 consists of a single appearance at LIV Golf's South Africa event in March, where he tied for 48th.
He subsequently missed all four major championships this season, marking a career first, according to Golf Digest.
“Phil continues to attend to a family health matter and is uncertain when he will be able to return to professional golf,” a spokesperson said, according to Golf Digest.
The statement followed reports that Mickelson stepped away after allegations of nonconsensual contact were raised at a California golf club.

Additional allegations were detailed in an investigation by Alan Shipnuck, which Mickelson's representatives characterized as an anonymously sourced attack.
