A man was found dead in an Aldergrove driveway on Monday, July 27, following a police-involved shooting during a property-crime investigation in Abbotsford the previous night.
Abbotsford Police Department officers attempted to intercept two men engaged in criminal activity around 11:30 p. m.

on Sunday, July 26, at the Petro-Pass truck stop on Matsqui Place. One of the suspects was identified as a prolific offender.
When the suspects tried to flee in a Dodge Ram pickup truck, an officer fired shots at the vehicle.
Officers then pursued the truck heading west on Highway 1 from Mt. Lehman Road before abandoning the chase.
The pursuit was called off a short time later “due to the manner in which the suspect vehicle was driving and the associated public safety risks,” said Sgt.

on Monday, a resident in the 27200 block of 30 Avenue in Aldergrove reported a suspicious truck parked in their driveway.
First responders and Langley RCMP attended the scene and located the deceased man inside the vehicle.
Investigators confirmed that both the deceased individual and the pickup truck were directly tied to the earlier altercation at the truck stop.
A search remains underway for the second suspect involved in the escape.
The Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia has launched an investigation into the shooting to evaluate officer conduct.

Abbotsford police are asking any witnesses or individuals with information regarding the incident or the second suspect to contact investigators.
