Dutch television personality Johan Derksen voiced criticism on July 28, 2026, regarding Wilfred Genee's role as presenter of the new SBS6 program Mi Dushi: wat is dan liefde.
Derksen shared his views during an episode of his podcast Groeten uit Grollo.

The show features Genee interviewing famous Dutch couples about their relationships from Curaçao. The premiere episode focused on Patty Brard and her husband Antoine, drawing 340,000 viewers.
Derksen said he struggled to adjust to Genee's gentle demeanor on the romance-centered show, contrasting with his typical television persona.
"I really have to get used to his role. I wish him all the success, the guy has worked very hard for it after all.
But I don't see Wilfred," Derksen remarked.
He added, "I think I've been working with him for twenty years.
He's a first-class pain in the neck, and there he's a super sweet guy asking gentle little questions."

Despite his criticism, Derksen rated Genee's performance a 7 out of 10, noting the viewer figures were respectable for a summer broadcast.
"He still scored reasonably well, and that in the summer, the bad period to put on a program.
And I grant him that wholeheartedly, because I quite understand that he gets a bit sick of the fact that he only has success with VI," Derksen said.
Derksen acknowledged Genee's desire to expand beyond sports talk shows but remained skeptical about the genre.
"He also wants to demonstrate occasionally that he can do a bit more, but I don't know if this is the genre where he should look for that," he stated.
