King Charles III has extended an offer to Prince Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace during his upcoming trip to the United Kingdom in September 2026 for the WellChild Awards.
The gesture comes after a dispute over accommodation during Harry's July 2026 visit, when he failed to secure a room at the royal residence due to late notice.

During that five-day trip for Invictus Games preparations, Harry provided insufficient advance warning, leaving royal officials unable to organize staffing and security in time.
The logistical lapse led to public confusion and a statement of disappointment from Harry's spokesperson, though the visit did include a private family reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House.
Insiders indicate that the Duke of Sussex intends to accept the latest housing offer well in advance to avoid repeating previous administrative complications.
Since his eviction from Frogmore Cottage, Harry is required to provide 28 days of notice to the Royal Household and police before traveling to Britain.

Royal commentators see positive signs
Royal commentators view the monarch's renewed offer as a sign of improvement in the father-son relationship.
"Obviously there does appear to be a sense that it's a gradual process and things are improving," said Robert Jobson, a royal author.
"Harry realises it is a very generous offer by his father and needs to respect that this time and be gracious about it," said Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine.
"This is a chance perhaps for Harry to show his father he knows how to behave," Seward added.
