The Pittsburgh Steelers placed defensive backs Jalen Ramsey and Donte Kent on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list as training camp opened on July 28, 2026, General Manager Omar Khan announced.

Ramsey is expected to miss a couple of weeks after suffering a knee injury during minicamp in June.

The issue does not require surgery.

Kent continues his rehabilitation after suffering a torn ACL in December.

"He's recovering. It'll probably be a couple of weeks, if I had to guess, on his return," Khan said.

The team remains confident that Ramsey will be ready for the start of the regular season. "We're going to be smart about it.

He's a pro. You guys know how hard he works," Khan added.

In contrast to the defensive backfield injuries, offensive tackle Broderick Jones received full clearance to practice. Jones spent the offseason recovering from neck surgery performed in December 2025.

"Obviously, we're going to be smart in terms of how we progress him," Khan said. "But you guys will see him out there on Wednesday."

Both Ramsey and Kent count toward the offseason roster limit and can be activated to full practice participation at any point prior to final roster cutdowns.
