Landmark stands and buildings at Rotherham's Millmoor football ground are set to be demolished, according to proposals submitted to Rotherham Council by site owner the Ron Hull Group.
The application covers the removal of the Millmoor Lane covered stand, the Railway End stand, all pitch lighting columns, the maintenance building, and associated grassed areas.

The Ron Hull Group acquired the site after purchasing CF Booth following its administration. Demolition is expected to be completed by the end of January next year.
Documents describe the two stands as neglected and in disrepair. The Railway End once accommodated over 2,000 away fans during Rotherham United's tenure at the ground.
The maintenance building, likely constructed in the 1950s or 1960s, may become redundant due to the site's changing use, according to the plans.
The Ron Hull Group plans to clear all buildings down to their ground slabs, remove these slabs, and leave the site prepared for future redevelopment.
No specific future use has been disclosed.

End of an Era
Rotherham United Supporters Club spokesman Roy Squires suggested a nostalgic event to mark the end of Millmoor's use as a football ground.
"I think that would go down well," Squires said.
He added, "If they wanted any help from the supporters group, we would definitely get involved. It is the end of an era."
The site has recently seen other changes, including the demolition of office buildings formerly owned by CF Booth.
The Ron Hull Group is collaborating with local firm Eton Construction on plans for the 35-acre area encompassing Millmoor and the Booth operations.

Despite Millmoor's origins dating back to 1890 and its historic connection to Rotherham United, the stadium is not a listed building nor recognized on the South Yorkshire Local Heritage List, allowing owners certain development rights.
