French electronic musician Kavinsky, whose real name was Vincent Belorgey, was found dead at his home in Paris at around 10:30 p.
m. on July 28, local authorities reported.
The 50-year-old DJ reportedly suffered a stroke, according to a police source cited by French newspaper Le Figaro.
Le Figaro also reported that Belorgey had complained about headaches in the days preceding his death.
Emergency services were called after a concerned neighbor noticed Belorgey had not been seen in the building.
Local police confirmed an investigation into the cause of death has been opened, adding that first responders found no suspicious elements at the scene.
Global Acclaim and Legacy
Kavinsky achieved global acclaim with his hit track 'Nightcall', featured on the soundtrack of the 2011 movie Drive.
The song accumulated over one billion streams across YouTube and Spotify.
He later performed the track at the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony alongside Phoenix and Angèle.
Following his 2013 debut album OutRun, the musician took an extended hiatus before releasing Reborn in 2022.
Earlier this month, Kavinsky made a special guest appearance alongside Prince 85 during an opening performance for The Weeknd at the Stade de France in Paris.
