Tactics Shift to Overwhelm French Police
Maritime security analysts observed that the sudden operational shift aimed to stretch French law enforcement resources despite recent increases in border security funding from the UK Government.
“What we’re seeing here is a full-frontal assault by the criminal gangs,” said a maritime security source to GB News.
The security expert noted that increased policing had previously disrupted regular push-off points around Calais.
“For weeks, they’ve been frustrated by increased police patrols, hampering their ability to launch boats from their regular push-off points around Calais and Dunkirk,” said the source.
Gangs tested new routes further down the coast to bypass established enforcement zones before initiating the larger coordinated wave.
“That’s forced a switch in tactics, with most launches happening up to a hundred miles south of Dunkirk, around the Dieppe area,” said the source.
Emergency units including the Eastbourne lifeboat and three Border Force vessels intercepted smaller test craft to transport occupants to the Dover processing center.
“This morning, they’ve switched tactics again,” said the source. Security officials confirmed that criminal networks continuously adapt to outmaneuver shore patrols.
