A civilian family of three died on Qeshm island following a heavy wave of US retaliatory strikes against military targets across southern and western Iran, Iranian state media reported.
The central command of the United States military completed the one-hour offensive on Wednesday at 20:00 ET to counter Tuesday attempted ballistic missile attacks targeting American personnel in Jordan and vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

US forces intercepted all incoming Iranian missiles during the initial aggression before launching the counteroffensive.
According to military officials, the operation focused on disabling Iranian defense infrastructure and maritime capabilities.
Centcom described the strikes as a "powerful response to yesterday attempted Iranian attacks on US forces wey base for di Middle East".
The air operations caused critical casualties in residential zones situated near major industrial sites.
According to medical authorities from the Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, the civilian fatalities occurred in a southern Iranian community during the military barrage.
"US attack on one residential home for di Chah Tangu neighbourhood of Qeshm kill three members of one family: di father, di mother, and dia 2-year-old child," stated the Fars report citing health officials.
Iranian official news agencies confirmed that key strategic energy hubs were affected by the military operation. Reports from Irib identified damage extending across both Qeshm and Abadan islands.
Regional military activity intensified further as air defense networks intercepted additional incoming Iranian projectiles aimed at neighboring countries.
