The original cast of The Inbetweeners is officially reuniting for a Netflix reboot movie. Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison will reprise their roles.

Producers are also keen to bring back Emily Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe.
A source told The Sun, "The creators of the show have written the script and are ready to roll — but Emily is one of the missing pieces in the project they’re keen to get in place."
Fans had feared the reboot might recast the main characters with younger actors, but the confirmation of the original four returning has reassured viewers.
Buckley Initially Hesitant
James Buckley, who plays Jay, had stated in February 2026 that he had not been approached. Recent reports indicate he has now signed on.
Buckley emphasized preserving the show's original humor, saying, "I think the temperature at the moment is that people would like an Inbetweeners.

It would release some sort of pressure. Just make sure we keep all that silly, disgusting humour."
Netflix secured the rights through a deal involving Banijay UK and Fudge Park Productions.
The streaming service is eager to have Atack return, but her current commitments with Disney+ and BBC One pose scheduling challenges.
The Inbetweeners originally aired on E4 from 2008 to 2010, winning a Bafta Audience Award in 2010.
It spawned two films in 2011 and 2014, grossing over £100 million worldwide. A 2019 reunion special was poorly received, with Buckley calling it a "mistake."
