San Francisco Giants center fielder Harrison Bader will not play again in the 2026 season after a scooter accident early Sunday morning.
The 32-year-old crashed into a fire engine in San Francisco's Cow Hollow neighborhood.

The collision happened around 2 a. m.
near Greenwich and Fillmore streets, close to Balboa Cafe.
Police said Bader received medical help at the scene and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said Bader hit the rear of a fire engine from Station 16. A wheel rolled over his foot, causing severe trauma.
Giants manager Tony Vitello said Thursday that Bader was already expected to miss the rest of the season because of left plantar fasciitis.
He added that the team is still gathering facts about the incident.

Scooter Crash History
This is not Bader's first scooter-related incident.
During his sophomore year at the University of Florida, he received a 19-game suspension for a similar late-night scooter wreck.
Bader had been on the injured list since May 29 due to his foot condition.
In his first season with the Giants after signing a two-year, $20.5 million contract, he struggled at the plate.
In 30 games in 2026, Bader batted . 170 with five home runs and no stolen bases.

His 54 OPS+ was a career low while playing at Oracle Park.
