Ariana Grande has released her eighth studio album, Petal, on Friday, July 31, 2026. The 12-track record arrives under her imprint BabyDoll Music via Republic Records.
The album showcases a more understated and experimental vocal approach, following her recent work in the Wicked film adaptations.

It serves as the follow-up to her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine.
Grande wrote the project primarily with long-time collaborator Ilya Salmanzadeh and producer Max Martin.
The lead single, "Hate That I Made You Love Me," previously topped the Billboard Hot 100, marking her tenth number-one single on the chart.
Raw Emotions and Unfiltered Lyrics
Grande revealed that the songwriting process tapped into raw emotions she had previously avoided in her career.
"I wrote from a place that I don't usually, I feel like, which was like an unfiltered rage that I think we all feel sometimes," she said in an Apple Music interview teaser.
"I usually am too shy to tap into that."
The singer intentionally altered her usual creative workflow to keep the lyrics more direct and unpolished.
"I think this time, I kind of just didn't filter as much as I usually do," she explained.

"I usually do a lot of rewrites and make things a little kinder, a little less... whatever...
direct. But this time, I didn't.
And I think they'll be excited by that. Also, yeah, I just hope they love it."
In earlier comments about the album's vocal direction, Grande addressed her shift to a higher register during a 2025 podcast appearance.
"If I have a long day of press or I have to sing, I'll place [my voice] a little higher," she said.
"That is just something that's healthy for the voice."
The album release coincides with the final dates of the North American leg of Grande's The Eternal Sunshine Tour.

The tour concludes with four remaining performances scheduled across Montreal and Chicago.
