The New York Mets have traded left-handed reliever A. J.
Minter to the Minnesota Twins. In return, they received infield prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick.

The deal was completed on July 31, 2026, as the Mets begin reshaping their roster before the Aug.
3 trade deadline.
Minter joined the Mets on a two-year, $22 million contract before the 2025 season.
He missed most of his first year after undergoing surgery on his left lat muscle.
After returning in May, he posted a 2.35 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 23 innings this season.
However, he struggled late, allowing a 6.00 ERA in his final nine appearances.
Twins Add Bullpen Help
The Twins acquired Minter to strengthen a bullpen that ranked 24th in fWAR among relief corps, according to data cited by the New York Times.

Minnesota already has left-handed options in Kendry Rojas and Kody Funderburk.
Minter is a pending free agent, making him a short-term addition for the Twins' playoff push.
Mets Receive Young Infielders
The Mets acquired 19-year-old Agbayani, a sixth-round draft pick and Hawaii Gatorade Player of the Year. He is the son of former Mets outfielder Benny Agbayani.
The younger Agbayani has been limited to 10 games this season due to a right shoulder injury.
MLB Pipeline ranks him as the No. 22 prospect in the Mets' organization.
The Mets also received 23-year-old Amick, who hit 23 home runs with an . 820 OPS in 379 plate appearances at Double-A this season, according to MLB.
