Max Clark made a memorable Major League Baseball debut on Friday, July 31, collecting three hits as the Detroit Tigers cruised to a 13-1 victory over the Athletics in West Sacramento, California.
The 21-year-old outfielder, selected third overall in the 2023 draft, became only the fourth player in franchise history to record at least three hits in his first game.

His performance included an RBI double during a seven-run eighth inning that put the game out of reach.
Dillon Dingler added a grand slam off Luis Morales in that same inning, while Kevin McGonigle homered in the third inning off Jeffrey Springs to give Detroit an early lead.
The win pulled the Tigers within 3.5 games of the final American League wild-card spot.
Reliever Ty Madden earned his first win, tossing three scoreless innings with two hits allowed after scheduled starter Casey Mize was scratched due to potential trade interest before Monday's deadline.
Clark's Path to the Majors
Before the game, Tigers manager A. J.
Hinch explained the decision to promote Clark following his strong performance at Triple-A Toledo.
"We've been watching his development all season, step by step, and he's really earned it," Hinch told reporters.

"There's not much more he needed to do there to show his readiness.
Now we're going to give him the next challenge, which is up here in the big leagues," he added.
Clark's journey included a difficult spring training, where he misplayed two fly balls in a Grapefruit League game against the Atlanta Braves on Feb.
