VfL Wolfsburg secured a 3-1 victory over Dutch side Telstar in a preseason friendly on July 31, 2026, in Germany.

The match served as Telstar's final preparation before the upcoming Eredivisie campaign.

Telstar missed early chances through Rui Mendes and Abdelnour Soualhia.

Wolfsburg took control when Robert Glatzel scored in the 9th minute, slotting into the short corner past goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr.

Alessio Besio doubled the lead in the 12th minute with a curled effort into the far corner.

Besio scored his second in the 35th minute, making it 3-0 after Telstar's defensive struggles.

After the break, Telstar pushed for a response. Mendes hit the underside of the crossbar, and striker Jelanie Seedorf struck the outside of the post.

Substitute Emirhan Demircan set up Soufiane Hetli, who scored Telstar's lone goal in the 73rd minute.

This was Telstar's first match on German soil since 1987 and their third international fixture since 2017.

Telstar will begin their Eredivisie season on August 8 with an away match against NEC in Nijmegen.
