Enzo Maresca will lead Manchester City for the first time on Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Inter Milan in Hong Kong.

The newly appointed manager aims to implement strategic changes following Pep Guardiola's departure last month.

Maresca took over the Premier League club after Guardiola concluded a ten-year tenure that brought 20 major trophies to the Etihad Stadium.

City began pre-season preparations ten days ago before traveling to Asia, where they will also play two fixtures in Seoul.

Addressing expectations ahead of his debut, Maresca acknowledged that external evaluations of his squad would begin immediately as he implements his tactical approach.

"We're going to be judged, always - not just tomorrow," said Maresca.

The former Chelsea and Leicester boss emphasized that he intends to establish a distinct identity for the team rather than copying previous methods.

"We started 10 days ago, all together, we are introducing some new concepts, so it's also important tomorrow to see something," said Maresca.

Maresca further detailed his managerial philosophy during the news conference.

"I don't believe in copy and paste. I think every manager (is) different ...

so it's my target, my duty, to try to introduce some new ideas," said Maresca.

Several key players remained absent from the touring squad in Hong Kong, including top scorer Erling Haaland and midfielder Rodri.

Rodri is recovering from minor back surgery following his participation in Spain's World Cup victory this month, amid media speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
