Berry Reflects on Career and Aging
During recent podcast appearances, Berry opened up about career milestones and societal expectations regarding aging and retirement in the entertainment industry.
Reflecting on her Oscar-winning role in the 2001 film "Monster's Ball," she recalled warnings from peers about the explicit scenes.
"People around me said, because at that time I hadn't done nudity, and the sex scene was like a big, like it had a big red light on it," Berry said on the Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend podcast.
"I felt like this was either gonna be one of the best things I ever did, or it would end my career."
The role ultimately made Berry the first Black woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress.
"If this ends my career, then I'm ending my own career on my own beliefs," she said.
