Stellantis truck drivers have been warned that using the new Gordie Howe International Bridge could lead to disciplinary action.
The directive applies specifically to FCA Transport drivers covered by UAW Local 212, according to CTV News.

Barrett posted a message on Facebook, stating that the company has an exclusive contract with the Ambassador Bridge.
He advised drivers to avoid the new bridge to prevent potential discipline and customs issues.
Contract Details and Savings
FCA Transport pays a flat rate of $160,000 per month for unlimited crossings on the Ambassador Bridge.
Previously, the company spent over $400,000 monthly, but the annual contract saves around $2.9 million each year.

Commercial vehicles using the Gordie Howe Bridge must pay a CA$12 or US$8.75 per-axle toll.
The new bridge opened on July 26, 2026, connecting Interstate 75 in Michigan with Highway 401 in Ontario.
Stellantis stated it plans to use the Gordie Howe Bridge for just-in-time manufacturing operations, but did not specify when or if FCA Transport trucks will be included.
Canceling the Ambassador Bridge contract would require 60 days' notice.

The union disabled comments on the post after some viewed the directive as political, clarifying that it is not about politics.
