Volkswagen has teased the redesigned Atlas Cross Sport, confirming that the five-seat crossover will debut on August 10.
The model arrives with a turbocharged engine and is expected to offer 282 horsepower and optional all-wheel drive.

The teaser image reveals an angular rear window and a pronounced spoiler, hinting at a sportier design compared to its seven-seat sibling, which was introduced at the New York Auto Show about four months earlier.
Design and Interior
While details are scarce, the Atlas Cross Sport is likely to share many features with the larger Atlas.
That means a more luxurious interior with heated and ventilated leatherette front seats, a heated steering wheel, and genuine wood trim.
Higher-end variants could add illuminated exterior door handles, glowing VW logos, and upgraded upholstery options like Varenna or Nappa leather.

A 15-inch infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are also possible.
Standard equipment on the Atlas includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.9-inch infotainment system, and a dual wireless smartphone charger.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Atlas Cross Sport is expected to use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque.
It should be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with front- or all-wheel drive options.

With all-wheel drive, fuel economy is estimated at around 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.
