A Tesla Model Y operating as a robotaxi in Austin, Texas, was recently caught on video making an illegal right turn and then driving into a pedestrian safety area blocked by bollards.
The clip, shared on Reddit by a frequent user of Tesla's Austin robotaxi service, shows the vehicle sitting for several seconds after entering the blocked-off zone.

Unable to reverse, the robotaxi attempted to squeeze between two bollards, hitting them in the process.
Cybercab Launch Looms
Despite the incident, Tesla is pushing ahead with plans to expand its robotaxi fleet in Austin.

According to a recent report, Tesla completed a trial with the Cybercab on private roads and is preparing to add it to the public fleet.

The Cybercab comes with more RAM and an upgraded AI4 Full Self-Driving computer, but whether it will perform better than the Model Y remains to be seen.
