The Chicago White Sox open their final West Coast road series against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 9:15 PM CDT.
Chicago starter Davis Martin enters his 10th start of the season seeking his seventh victory, which would tie him for the Major League Baseball lead.
Pitching Matchup
Martin ranks third in the league with a 1.61 ERA and is coming off a seven-strikeout performance against the Chicago Cubs, according to South Side Sox.
The San Francisco Giants counter with 25-year-old rookie right-hander Trevor McDonald, who has compiled a 2-0 record and a 2.37 ERA since his call-up.
McDonald is expected to rely on a pitch mix featuring 94 mph sinkers and 87 mph sliders across his outings, according to South Side Sox team reports.
Lineup Change
The White Sox altered their starting lineup shortly before game time due to an injury. Outfielder Jarred Kelenic was scratched because of a back contusion.
Derek Hill will fill the vacancy in right field and bat ninth in the batting order.
