Adley Rutschman delivered a historic performance, going 4-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles, a single, and a walk, as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 13-3 at Rogers Centre.

Rutschman became the first Orioles hitter to reach base five times and record at least five RBIs in a single game since Nelson Cruz in 2014.

Baltimore overcame an early two-run deficit, improving to 31-33 and winning 10 of their last 14 games, pulling within two games of .

500 for the first time since May 1.

Rutschman Ignites Offense Early

Rutschman set the tone with a first-inning home run off Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage, the first regular-season homer allowed by the right-hander in his MLB career.

Brandon Young earned the win, delivering his third consecutive quality start by allowing three runs over 6 1/3 innings.

Yesavage lasted 5 2/3 innings, surrendering six earned runs before being chased during a five-run sixth inning.

Jeremiah Jackson, pinch-hitting for the injured Samuel Basallo, contributed an RBI single in the sixth. Basallo left the game after going 0-for-2 due to right abdominal discomfort.

Coby Mayo followed Jackson's single with a two-run home run, forcing Yesavage out of the game.

The Blue Jays scored on a sacrifice fly by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and a two-run homer by catcher Brandon Valenzuela in the fifth inning.

Baltimore blew the game open with three runs in the eighth and four in the ninth.

Jackson added another RBI single, while Colton Cowser and Leody Taveras also drove in runs.

A throwing error by Toronto third baseman Kazuma Okamoto allowed the final two runs to score, forcing position player Tyler Heineman to pitch.

Injury Updates

Orioles closer Ryan Helsley, sidelined with elbow inflammation, completed a bullpen session at Rogers Centre before Friday's game.

He tested his breaking balls after previously throwing only fastballs and remains a candidate for a rehab assignment next week.

Starting pitcher Chris Bassitt rejoined the team after exiting his Wednesday start due to lower back tightness.

Manager Craig Albernaz confirmed Bassitt is scheduled to start Monday against the Seattle Mariners if he experiences no setbacks.

Right-hander Dean Kremer progressed in his recovery from a quad injury by completing a live bullpen session at the spring training complex in Sarasota, Florida.

Albernaz said Kremer is meeting all recovery milestones, a final step before a minor league rehab assignment.
