Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell resumed baseball activities on Friday, playing catch for the first time since undergoing elbow surgery 2½ weeks ago.
The session took place before the team's series opener against the Angels.

The surgery, performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, involved removing loose bodies from Snell's elbow using the NanoNeedle Scope 2.0, a device smaller than a traditional arthroscope.
Recovery Timeline Remains Uncertain
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts emphasized that the team will take a cautious approach with Snell's rehabilitation. “I don’t know about the timeline,” Roberts said.
“But it’s going to be a ways. We’re going to make sure we kind of take care of him.”

Roberts noted that the accelerated recovery of another pitcher, Tarik Skubal—who underwent the same procedure on May 6 and is nearing a return—will not alter the Dodgers' strategy for Snell.
Meanwhile, Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz continues to progress in his own throwing program after having loose bodies removed from his elbow in mid-April.

He has thrown on consecutive days multiple times. “All positive with Edwin,” Roberts said.
