Brazil earned its first victory of the FIFA World Cup by defeating Haiti 3-0 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Friday, June 19, 2026.

The five-time world champions bounced back from an opening draw against Morocco to secure three crucial points in Group C.

First-Half Dominance

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, tapping in a rebound after Vinicius Junior's shot was blocked.

Cunha doubled the lead in the 36th minute, finishing a clinical counterattack set up by Vinicius Junior.

Vinicius Junior made it 3-0 during first-half stoppage time, sliding the ball under Haiti goalkeeper Johny Placide after a pass from Lucas Paqueta.

Despite the comfortable lead, Brazil suffered a setback when Barcelona forward Raphinha was forced off with an injury in the 40th minute.

Second Half and Debut

The second half saw the tournament debut of 19-year-old Real Madrid forward Endrick, who had a goal disallowed for offside as Brazil managed the game to conserve energy.
