The Minnesota Wild bolstered their veteran depth on July 2, 2026, by acquiring forwards Blake Coleman and defenseman Olli Määttä from the Calgary Flames.
In exchange, the Wild sent defenseman Jake Middleton to Calgary, along with a 2027 third-round pick, a 2028 fourth-round pick, and a 2029 second-round selection.
Coleman and Määttä Bring Championship Pedigree
Coleman, 34, recorded 35 points (20 goals, 15 assists) in 69 games with the Flames last season.
The Texas native won consecutive Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021.
Määttä, 31, split last season between the Utah Mammoth and Calgary, posting 15 points and 62 blocked shots in 43 games.
The Finnish defenseman won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017.
Middleton, 30, had 16 points and 117 blocked shots in 75 games for Minnesota last season, ending his four-year tenure with the Wild.
The Flames retained 50 percent of Coleman's salary as part of the deal.
