A truck crashed through a guardrail in a multi-vehicle accident on the A15 highway toward Ridderkerk on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026.
The incident involved the truck and a passenger car, according to Linq Media.
Emergency services, including multiple ambulances, police, and the fire department, responded to the scene.
Ambulance personnel examined the car's occupants, while the truck driver was reported uninjured.
Rijkswaterstaat announced that the parallel roadway toward Ridderkerk was expected to remain closed until 12:00 PM.
Motorists were advised to detour via the Blankenburgtunnel (A24).
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
Separate Crash on Monday
This major highway disruption followed a separate five-car collision on Monday morning, July 6, 2026, on the A15 near the Vaanplein junction.
That incident temporarily blocked the roadway toward Europoort, causing severe delays for commuters leaving Alblasserdam, as reported by Alblasserdams Nieuws.
Local arterial roads, including the Edisonweg, De Helling, the Dam, the Bridge over the Noord, and the Noordtunnel, experienced gridlock on Monday.

Regional traffic pressure remains elevated because the A20 highway is entirely closed for a two-week large-scale renovation toward Hoek van Holland.
After that, the opposite direction will close for two weeks.
As reported by Rijnmond, motorists traveling from the direction of Utrecht on the A20 must detour at the Terbregseplein interchange via the A16 and the southern ring road.
This has caused heavy congestion on connecting local roads.
