Burnley has entered advanced discussions to appoint Genk head coach Nicky Hayen as their new manager, according to a report by BBC Sport.
The Championship side is seeking a replacement after Scott Parker left the club.
Negotiations between the Clarets and the Belgian club are currently ongoing, but a final agreement has not yet been reached for the 45-year-old coach.
Hayen's Coaching Background
Hayen took charge of Genk in December 2025, leading them to a seventh-place finish in the Belgian Pro League.
Prior to that, he managed Club Brugge until his dismissal in the same month, and earlier had a stint at Welsh side Haverfordwest County.
Burnley's pursuit of Hayen comes after the club failed to secure other candidates.
Talks with the Football Association of Wales for Craig Bellamy collapsed due to disagreements over backroom staff arrangements.
Additionally, former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Rob Edwards reportedly turned down an approach from Turf Moor to replace Parker.
